Hooked on Shape

I don’t usually buy magazines, but ever since I picked up a copy of Shape, I just knew that I had to have it every month. I try to live a healthy lifestyle, so I really value the articles in Shape, which are not just inspiring, but fun, fresh and full of facts about health issues, cooking and even gadgets. And being a girl, the clothes and beauty products you feature are more than welcome! Thank you for all that effort, and I’ll see you again when the next issue hits the newsstands!

The flip that changed my life

I’m a newbie to Shape, but after flipping through your pages for the first time, I ended up reading your April issue from cover to cover. I especially empathized with Maggie Vanbuskirk’s ‘acceptance’of her surgery scars as part of her body. It made me look at my own 17-year-old scars with more acceptance and less trepidation. These women you featured have really inspired me to keep taking care of myself. I feel so blessed for having picked up your magazine.

Not about to give up
I absolutely LOVED Solve Your Energy Crisis, especially the ‘morning workout motivators’. My morning exercise plans are often foiled by disorganisation—I tend to skip workouts because I get distracted with my chores and rushing to get to the office on time.

Your article made me realise that fitting in exercise is achievable by combining motivation and good time management. I’m definitely going to keep trying...

A Shape Run fan
Every year without fail, my family and I sign up for the Shape Run because we love the run and the goodie bags; plus, it’s such a great event for families! Thank you, Shape, for putting so much effort into organizing it. Needless to say, we are looking forward to this year’s Shape Run. Also, as a Shape subscriber, I’d love to see more contests and promotions in your magazine—I’ve entered countless contests, but have yet to win something. But with that said, I love reading Shape because it’s my source of inspiration!

Job satisfaction
I truly appreciated your feature Love the job you’re in. Every little bit counts
I'm a fairly new fan of Shape, but I love all the little tips I've 'collected' your March issue. An inspiring couple

Exercise guide
As an avid reader of Shape, I’ve realized just how much your magazine has taught me about exercise and healthy eating. Your stories are also a great source of motivation when it comes to keeping the weight off, particularly when I’m preoccupied with work (all the effort can easily go down the drain when I’m not paying attention!).

So far, my weight has fluctuated between 50 and 55 kilograms (it shot up when I had nothing but rice to eat, three meals a day, for two consecutive weeks during my umrah trip last June), so I’m very well aware of how easy it is to put on weight, and how difficult it is to lose and keep it off!

With the help of Shape, I’m now exercising every day. My favorite moves: Crunches, sit ups, leg exercises, and of course, arm exercises using free weights
