“Shape Changed My Mind!”

Winning Letter of May Issue.

Your April issue really came in handy for me. I was down with the flu for a week and feeling feverish, so I had to stop exercising during that time. Then I read Work Out or Sit Out, which let me know that it’s ok to perform moderate-intensity workouts if I have above-the-neck symptoms. So despite a slightly runny nose, I did your Target Trainingworkout in addition to Pilates exercises for a full hour and ended up feeling great! I could even breathe better after my workout—my nose felt less congested. Another fav thing of mine about this month’s issue: Your sportswear section! I’m usually reluctant to spend money on workout clothes, since I work out at home, but you’ve changed my mind, and am now saving up to buy a set of workout clothes that will help me look and feel better. I do have a question though: With some recent studies showing that carbohydrates are making people fat, does this mean all carbohydrates are bad? Or is it still ok to consume complex carbohydrates such as whole-meal bread, sweet potato and so on? I hope there will be an article on this, as I find this issue somewhat confusing.
