Cervical Cancer: Do You Know Enough About It?

The best way to face cancer: Always be on the defensive for its earliest symptoms.

Cancer is something we are all familiar with, and the mere mention of the ‘C’ word strikes fear in everyone’s hearts. Most of us would be familiar with breast cancer, but what about cervical cancer? Worldwide, cervical cancer is the second most common cancer, and kills 275,128 women each year, says the World Health Organization. In Malaysia, the National Cancer Registry has found that this disease is the third most common cancer in women after breast and colorectal cancers. In fact, it affects women 30 and over, its occurrence is heightened in women between the ages of 60 and 69.
