Weight training and keeping
to a weekly a workout regimen haven’t been the most difficult
parts of my weight loss journey. It’s time I acknowledge my
toughest hurdles as I reach my half-way mark.

I had been forewarned when I first began my
Weight Loss Diary journey, that I would end up feeling
tired, have aching muscles, and experience hormonal and chemical
fluctuations that would result in monster cravings. However,
these have been confined to my physical challenges. What I
didn’t anticipate however, was having to deal with the mental
aspect of things.
A vicious cycle
As far as my job as a writer goes, the work can be fun, but
the responsibilities that come with it can take a toll on
me. In the beginning, I went through a terrible mental cycle
as far as food was concerned. On many days, I would grab the
quickest lunch option available, sometimes forgetting to eat
healthy. Then after a meal, I’d suddenly realize that I had
had too much carbohydrate for that day,
or start wondering
if there was santan in the meal I had just eaten.
