You’ve trained for months and prepared yourself, not only mentally, but physically. What else do you need to know to ace the race? Read on to find out.

BEFORE THE RACE:CONSERVE YOUR ENERGY Although it may be tempting to go for a quick practice run before the actual race, experts advise against it. Why? Your body needs adequate energy to maintain good form throughout the run so you don’t end up feeling fatigued too quickly. “Runners should rest both physically and mentally just before the race. However, I do recommend stretching for 30 minutes on the morning of the race, just to relax your muscles,” says Isaiah Kee Tzen Chin, fitness manager at Fitness First Wisma Consplant.
