It’s A Wrap…

…for this year, at least.

WOULD YOU BELIEVE IT?

This is my fifth Editor’s Note for a December issue of Shape. It used to be said that “time flies”, but I feel that phrase is no longer accurate. It would be more apt to say that time now “evaporates”.

Is this is good or bad thing? I don’t know, I haven’t quite decided either way. All I know is that, as a child, December was the coolest month of the year, not that we experience winter here in Malaysia, but that it was the holiday month for us school kids and that there were always Christmas presents to which we did nothing but look forward.

These days, I look forward to the content of the December issues of Shape the same way I looked forward to my ‘pressies’ all those decades ago. This time, I thoroughly enjoyed the Focus section on being Party Perfect.

As I’m not exactly what you could call ‘the life of the party’, I found all the tips in the four articles (Social-Capable, page 42; Eat, drink and be healthy, page 44; 5 tips to holiday eating, page 47and Sneaky get-fit routines, page 46)… well, a party in and of itself.

Nothing lets you make “an entrance” better than perfect posture. Aside from the fantastic beauty tips and tricks that jostle and joust for your attention in the Look Great section, poise is unarguably the very foundation (no, I don’t mean the cosmetic kind) of gorgeous.

That’s why you will find, on page 78 find Stand and deliver, this month’s Target Training on the shoulders and upper back to help you stand straighter and look sexier than ever in those off-shoulder numbers you will no doubt be wearing.

Of course, in all that excitement that is December, don’t forget to clock an adequate quantity and quality of sleep. In a way, this should also be the month to catch your breath for the year ahead.

But if that’s impossible, perhaps you should do what we discovered on page 11 (Want to score that ‘A’?) power nap for 15 minutes between 1pm to 3pm, apparently the best time to do so for a quick boost to your creativity.

For sure, here at Shape, we believe that if you snooze, you definitely do not lose! Despite the tropical heat, don’t forget to chill!
